In 2023, Google and Yahoo have changed up email marketing and how we send emails as marketers. Some of the things we need to monitoring is:
- Spam Rate
- Domain Reputation
- IP Reputation
- Delivery Errors
Luckily there is a free tool, Google Postmaster, where you can connect your domain and view these reports based on your email sending.
Below I’ll walk you through how to add your domain to Google Postmaster.
How to Connect Your Domain and Setup Google Postmaster
- Open your web browser and navigate to postmaster.google.com.
- Enter your domain (don’t include www)
- TXT record will be generated
- Now, go login to where your DNS lives (possibly Cloudflare, GoDaddy, BlueHost, NameCheap)
- Add a new record to your domain DNS
- Type is TXT, Name or host is @
- Content or value is the record given by google postmaster.
- Save
- Now go back to Google Postmaster, and click Verify
That’s it!
Here’s a quick video to walk you through the setup if you are a visual leaner. And bonus…you can set it up less than 3 minutes.
